Conservation & Debate Clubs
Conservation Club
This club is designed for youth leaders to initiate environmental awareness campaigns, engage in community clean up and advocate for community needs. This approach has proven effective in teaching youth leaders the value of ownership and community led projects that promote environmental sustainability.
Debate Club
Children and youth have access to a mentor who helps them to develop skills in research and public speaking. Every quarter the mentor or youth leaders pick a topic for a debate session and take some time to research before the debate session which has attendance of peers and AYC staff.
The club is additionally used to break down social issues faced in the community and present these topics in a fun and creative way for children and young to understand and develop solutions.
